Poppies have been placed at a special sculpture in The Cube to commemorate Remembrance Day. The sculpture is of Gerda, a 98-year old Jewish woman in Birmingham, who lost members of her family in the holocaust during World War II.
Neil Edginton, director of The Cube, said: “It seemed fitting to make one of our ‘the lovely people’ sculptures a focus for Remembrance Day. We encouraged people to come and place poppies by Gerda’s sculpture which is situated outside the famous Adee Phelan Salon inside The Cube and easily accessible to those who pass through the building.
